The Hotel is located in Sliema, in quiet peaceful surroundings, just off the beaten track. It is just a few minutes away from the Town Centre, within Malta’s most exclusive area.
How far is it from the airport to the Hotel?
Malta International Airport is about 12km away.
Can you arrange airport transfers?
Yes, we are happy to assist you and can arrange a taxi service for approximately € 25 each way. It is advisable to book transfers via our reservation staff at least a day in advance.
What are the Hotel’s apartment and room types and their differences?
Il-Merill Aparthotel has three categories of apartments and rooms: standard & superior apartments, and standard rooms. Of these, the standard apartments can have one or two separate bedrooms, while the superior apartments only have one bedroom. Whereas the one bedroom apartments sleep a maximum of three people, the two bedroom apartments sleep a maximum of four people. On the other hand, each hotel room has one bedroom which sleeps two people.
Are your Hotel rates per room or per person?
The apartment rates are charged per unit per day, while the room rates are per person per day, with room rate costs differing slightly for single occupancy.
Are single rooms spacious?
All hotel rooms at Il-Merill Aparthotel have twin beds, which rooms are also used for single occupancy.
Does my room reservation require a guarantee?
All room reservations require a credit card guarantee.
What Credit Cards does the hotel accept?
The Hotel accepts valid Visa & Master cards, and also American Express.
What currencies does the hotel accept?
The Hotel accepts all major international currencies.
What are the standard check-in and check-out times of the hotel?
Check-in time is at 1300hrs and check-out time is at 11.00hrs, although you can extend your check-out should there be room availability. A luggage room is also available, for those who would like to enjoy the last hours before departure.
Is it possible to check-in earlier?
It is sometimes possible to check in earlier, however, this depends on availability and cannot be guaranteed. To be sure of having the room ready upon arrival, you can reserve the room from the night before.
How much do you charge for a late check-out?
It is possible to have a late check-out, with charges applying accordingly.
Do the apartments and rooms have balconies?
All apartments and hotel rooms have a balcony, with some enjoying a view of the picturesque Sliema Creek.
Do the Hotel’s apartments cater for families travelling with children?
Il-Merill Aparthotel’s apartments are spacious, and can take up to four persons comfortably. Baby cots can also be provided, on request.
What are the basic facilities within the hotel’s apartments and rooms?
All apartments and hotel rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, electric radiator heaters, telephones with direct dialling facilities for both local & international calls, radios, and televisions. Furthermore, apartments have all the necessary cooking facilities, including a refrigerator.
Are hairdryers available in the apartments and rooms?
Hairdryers are available via the Hotel’s Front Desk.
Does the hotel provide ironing services?
Irons and boards are available via the Hotel’s Front Desk.
Does the hotel offer laundry and dry cleaning services?
The hotel does provide these services, including express requests – tariffs displayed in room & apartment information packs.
What voltage do you use in Malta?
The available voltage in Malta is 240v.
Does the hotel provide refrigeration facilities for guests staying in hotel rooms?
Should you have anything that would require refrigeration storage, please contact our Reception staff who would be able to assist. Our refrigeration facilities in such cases are limited, and are for short-term use only.
Does the Hotel provide Internet connection?
Il-Merill Aparthotel has internet services at the lobby.
Does the Hotel have any parking facilities?
The Hotel has an underground garage, with ample parking facilities at no extra charge. Cyclists may also make use of this area.
Where can one place valuables?
Safety deposit boxes are available at the Hotel’s Front Desk, at a minimal charge.
Does the Hotel have a swimming pool?
The Hotel’s outdoor splash pool, located at roof top level, is surrounded by a sundeck area.
When and where is breakfast served?
Buffet breakfast is served between 0730hrs to 1000hrs, at ground floor level. The Hotel also caters for early departures.
Do you serve lunch?
Although we do not have a regular lunch service available, our Cafeteria sells hot and cold snacks at lunch time. We are also able to provide a packed lunch, on request.
When and where is dinner served?
We regularly provide dinner arrangements at a neighbouring hotel, which meal is served between 1830hrs to 2100hrs.
Are high-chairs available in your dining areas?
Yes, we do have high-chairs available at the breakfast room.
Is a baby-sitting service available?
Yes, we do have a baby sitting service available on request, at a charge. A day’s advance notice is required.
Is it safe to drink tap water in Malta?
It is advisable to use bottled mineral water, for dinking purposes.
Is a doctor available at the Hotel?
We do have a doctor on call on a 24 / 7 basis, charging reasonable rates for his services.
Are there dentists, should the need arise?
The Hotel does have contact details of a dental clinic which is located in the vicinity.
Are there any hospitals within the locality?
There is a private hospital in Sliema; while Malta’s general hospital is just a ten minute taxi ride away.
Do you allow pets?
Sadly we are unable to accept pets in the hotel, apart from guide dogs.
How far is it from the hotel to the Town Centre of Sliema?
The Town Centre is about 200 metres away.
Where can I catch a bus from, to Malta’s Capital City?
Busses to Valletta can be found just 400 metres away from the hotel. Some even provide a direct link to beaches and the north of the Island.
Are there any shops and shopping centres, similar outlets, or places of interest in the area?
Malta’s most fashionable shops are in Sliema, merely 200 metres away from the Hotel. Banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, florists, Catholic churches, diving centres, water-sports centres, beaches, lidos, day cruise boats, tour shops, many cafés & restaurants, hair salons, beauticians, a hotel gym & Spa, and English language schools, are within walking distance from the Hotel. |
